While people may be familiar with killer whales and grizzly bears, they may never have heard of the blue-tailed skink or the phantom orchid. Many of the 1,600 species at risk in BC are rare, elusive and not well known. This series of ten short videos take you right into the habitat of some of the most endangered and elusive species at risk in the province. Teachers can use the videos as an educational tool to show students how scientists work in the field to learn more about species such as the Oregon spotted frog, the American badger or the rattlesnake, and how scientific knowledge is used for the long-term conservation of species.
